SUP Fitness FAQ's

Q. What Should I wear for the SUP fitness?

A. For Indoor pool classes a swimsuit or light gym kit that you don't mind getting wet as the pool is heated and the pool room is warm. Open water classes it can be dependant on the air temperature so anything from gym kit that you don't mind getting wet to a summer wetsuit (3mm), bear in mind that you will be working out and wetsuits will get hot very quick, between May and Sept, gym kit is usually OK, but if in doubt please ask.

Q. Do I need to have a SUP lesson or experience before joining the SUP fitness classes?

A. You do not need to have SUP experience or a lesson for our fitness classes as the boards are tethered.

Q. What fitness level should I be to join?

A. Our fitness classes are great for every level, as the lessons are based around timed exercises  so people can go at their own pace to what they feel comfortable with,  ultimetly it is down to the individual to put the effort in, the more effort that is put in the more you will get out of it. We have a basic PARQ form with some medical questions that is also required to be completed prior to taking a fitness class, this can be found in the menu bar.

Q. What type of exercises are performed?

A. Low impact HIT exercises that combine balance, strength, and endurance. Plank, crunches, squats to name a few.

Q. How old do I need to be?

A. You need to be 14 or over to participate in our SUP fitness classes.

​

Q. How long are the classes?

A. The actual workout time is 35-40mins, we allow a 10min period for warming up and cool down stretches.
